Get to Know Gracie
Gracie Patton serves as a Family Mentor with the Kenton County Sobriety and Recovery Teams (START) program through the University of Kentucky, where she is dedicated to supporting families involved with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS). In this role, she works with parents whose cases often involve child maltreatment associated with substance use disorder (SUD). Gracie collaborates closely with DCBS Social Service Workers (SSWs) to ensure families receive comprehensive, coordinated care tailored to their unique needs.
Her work focuses on connecting families to vital community resources, including substance use treatment, mental health services, and recovery supports. Gracie is committed to helping parents build stability, strengthen family systems, and work toward safe reunification. Drawing on her lived experience, she brings authenticity, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach that fosters trust and encourages long-term recovery.
Gracie is a certified Adult Peer Support Specialist in the state of Kentucky and holds a certification in Mental Health First Aid. She has completed some college coursework and is actively pursuing further education with the goal of becoming a Social Service Worker. Her professional aspirations center on advocating for and serving individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders, with a focus on promoting resilience, recovery, and family preservation.
