Real-World Impact
Here, student research goes beyond the classroom. From day one, you’ll work side-by-side with faculty mentors, dive into big challenges, and help shape the future of criminal justice and social work. Whether you’re seeking out bold solutions to systemic challenges, launching new interventions, or driving policy change, this is how you turn your ideas into action.

Annual Virtual Showcase of DSW Scholars
Every year, our Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) candidates present their capstone research during a multi-day, online event that is free and open to the public. Attendees all over the world engage with innovative research tackling society’s most pressing issues while earning free Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Office of Undergraduate Research
The UK Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) supports undergraduate students in all majors by facilitating research, scholarly, and creative endeavors. OUR promotes high-impact student experiences, providing opportunities to work with faculty mentors, apply for funding, and participate in workshops.
“Presenting my DSW capstone project was the culmination of years of passion and hard work. It was more than a showcase—it was a confirmation that I’m on the right path towards living out real change.”
