A Culture of Care

In the College of Social Work, wellbeing isn’t a perk—it’s a priority.
Since 2019, our Wellness Initiative has worked to build a community where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.

Wellness means different things to different people.
That’s why we’ve built a flexible, inclusive framework that adapts to your individual needs, backed by leadership from our Chief Wellbeing Officer and guided by the CARE Committee (Culture, Alliance, Resilience, and Engagement).

We’re here to provide the resources and support you need to feel your best—professionally and personally.

I³: Invested in You

The Investment in Ingenuity and Initiative (I3) program is a professional development opportunity created specifically for College of Social Work faculty and staff.

Whether pursuing a course, certification, or conference, I3 supports continuous learning and skill-building so our team can grow as leaders, innovators, and experts in their fields.

“Investing in our people is crucial to fostering talent, creating a better work culture, and encouraging future leaders.”

Dean Justin “Jay” Miller

BRIGHT: Leadership in

Practice

The BRIGHT Administrative Training Supplement is a leadership supplement under the I3 umbrella, built to help faculty and staff grow and succeed in administrative roles. Participants gain hands-on HR training, shadow senior leaders, and receive personalized executive coaching.

“Participating in BRIGHT was unlike any previous trainings or professional development initiatives I have been a part of. Creating and offering programs like BRIGHT shows a commitment and investment to developing people.”

Diana Pérez La Rotta CoSW HR Manager

The Moving Meeting Room: Moving on the Clock

Sitting all day? Not our style. With our Moving Meeting Initiative, we’ve made walking meetings part of work culture. It’s just one of many ways we’re rethinking the role of health and wellness in the workplace.
