Katherine Coates

Kathy Kleier Coates- Kathy has worked in Social Services/Behavioral Health in a variety of roles, since 1987. She started working for START (Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Teams) in 2018 and with the University of Kentucky as the Assistant Clinical Director for START since 2019. As the Assistant Clinical Director, she works with supporting the START leadership team with the strategic planning and development of the START model. She oversees the contract administration and provides oversight to the START Providers. This includes working with the appropriate contracted staff regarding treatment coordination, budgets, expenditures, and assuring best business practice. She also provides training opportunities and coaches’ staff.
She is deeply committed to the START model and loves the work that is being facilitated by the front-line staff who support families in recovery while ensuring the welfare of the children.
