Get to Know Krista
Hi, I’m Krista Logsdon. As a Family Mentor working with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) and the Family Court system in Jefferson County, Kentucky, I am committed to supporting families as they navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. I specialize in working with individuals and parents impacted by substance use disorders, child welfare involvement, and court oversight, helping them move toward stability, recovery, and reunification.
My work is grounded not only in professional training and system knowledge, but also in lived experience. Having personally walked the path of addiction and recovery, I bring an authentic understanding of the barriers families face, as well as the hope and resilience required to overcome them. This perspective allows me to build trust quickly, meet families where they are, and provide mentorship rooted in empathy and accountability.
I collaborate closely with DCBS workers, attorneys, treatment providers, and court personnel to help families understand expectations, access resources, comply with case plans, and advocate for themselves effectively. My approach is strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, and focused on empowering parents to make sustainable, positive changes.
