Get to Know Lella
Lella Still, DSW, LCSW, is a clinical instructor in the University of Kentucky’s College of Social Work, where she has taught in the BSW, MSW, and DSW programs. Prior to joining the faculty full time in 2025, Dr. Still served as the director of behavioral health social work for UK HealthCare. In this role, she provided leadership and management of behavioral health social work services at Eastern State, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Kentucky Children’s Hospital. During her 15-year career at UK HealthCare, she oversaw the clinical supervision program at all sites, providing direct supervision to aspiring licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs) and facilitating consultation groups for clinical supervisors throughout the enterprise.
Dr. Still has taught as an adjunct instructor for UK COSW since 2021. As a DSW student, she founded Eastern State Hospital’s Caring Contacts program, a social work-led transitional care intervention supporting patients after discharge. She is currently working with UK’s College of Nursing on a Medicaid funded project examining how telehealth appointments increase kept appointment rates following hospital discharge.
Dr. Still has been published in the New Social Worker magazine and presented at the first national DSW conference in 2022. In the summer of 2026, she is presenting at the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Clinical Supervision (IICCS). Since 2022, she has served on Lexington’s Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention Board. She is also a member of the Kentucky Society for Clinical Social Workers and has served as a mentor in the SWAA Alumni-Student Mentoring Program.
