Get to Know Lory

Lory Scarberry serves as a KY-KINS Family Peer Support Specialist with the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, supporting the Kentucky Kinship Resource Center (KKRC). In this role, she works directly with kinship caregivers, providing peer-based support and guidance as families navigate complex caregiving situations and access available resources.
Lory brings a practical, empathetic, and solution-focused approach to her work, drawing on lived experience and professional training to support caregivers as they work through challenges and identify next steps. She focuses on helping families build resilience, strengthen communication, and feel more confident in their ability to navigate their caregiving journey.
In her role, Lory supports caregivers in navigating systems and accessing resources while fostering collaboration with service providers. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and equipped to move forward with confidence, helping families build stability and long-term well-being.
