Melanie Francis

Melanie Francis serves as a Family Peer Support Specialist with the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, supporting the Kentucky Kinship Resource Center (KKRC). In this role, she works directly with kinship caregivers, providing guidance and support as they navigate caregiving responsibilities, access resources, and build stability for the children in their care.

Her work is rooted in compassion and connection, helping caregivers feel supported as they navigate challenges and identify next steps. She takes a thoughtful and encouraging approach, supporting caregivers in accessing resources and building confidence in their role, while creating a welcoming and understanding space for families facing complex challenges.

Melanie is passionate about strengthening connections and ensuring caregivers feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey. She is committed to providing meaningful support that helps families build stability, confidence, and long-term success.
