Michelle Slone is a person in long-term recovery who brings both professional dedication and lived experience to her work in the field of substance use disorder and recovery support. As a member of the START (Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Team) with the University of Kentucky, she is committed to helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of addiction and build sustainable paths toward recovery.
In her role, Michelle works directly with individuals impacted by substance use, providing support, advocacy, and connection to resources. Her approach is rooted in compassion, accountability, and a deep understanding of the recovery process. By meeting people where they are, she helps reduce barriers to treatment and empowers individuals to take meaningful steps toward stability and long-term wellness.
Michelle is particularly passionate about reducing stigma associated with addiction and increasing access to recovery-oriented services within the community. She believes that recovery is possible for everyone and strives to create an environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.
