Get to Know Sarah
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts from Asbury University and a Certificate in Event Coordinating from the New York Institute of Art and Design. She began her career in 2013 and has spent more than thirteen years in the event industry, coordinating everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions. Her experience includes planning conferences, summer camps, weddings, rehearsal dinners, retirement celebrations, graduation parties, baby showers, and just about every type of event in between. The events she has managed have ranged in size from ten guests to thousands.
Sarah now brings her extensive experience to the University of Kentucky’s College of Social Work, where she coordinates events of all sizes. She enjoys every aspect of the event planning process—including vendor and venue management, budget development and oversight, décor design, team building, catering, logistics, and volunteer coordination—but truly shines on event day, when she is setting up, overseeing details, implementing event logistics, and ensuring the day-of event schedule goes as planned. And of course, problem solving along the way.
With a strong passion for serving others, Sarah especially values the opportunity to work alongside and celebrate foster families across the Commonwealth of Kentucky through her role at the College of Social Work.
When she’s not coordinating events, Sarah enjoys exploring small towns and local coffee shops (an iced oat milk latte with any seasonal syrup is her go-to), cooking, and taking workout classes at her gym—particularly Zumba and boxing. She also loves exploring Chicago with her sister, hiking with her husband, and playing with her two dogs.
