Get to Know Ramla

Ramla Osman serves as Director of Philanthropy for the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, a role she assumed in October 2024. In this position, she leads the college’s fundraising strategy, alumni engagement efforts, and philanthropic partnerships, working to advance the mission and long-term impact of social work and criminal justice education, research, and community engagement.

With more than 14 years of experience across K–12 and higher education, Ramla brings a strong student-centered and relationship-driven approach to advancement work. Prior to joining the College of Social Work, she served as Associate Director for the Center for Personal Development in the Lewis Honors College at the University of Kentucky, where she supported student growth through counseling services, leadership development, and professional preparation. Her professional background also includes roles in high school counseling, career services, and student recruitment, providing her with a deep understanding of the student lifecycle and the transformative power of education.

Ramla earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Mars Hill University and a Master of Science in Educational Counseling from the University of Memphis. She is a National Certified Counselor and holds professional credentials in the Myers‑Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory, and Global Career Development Facilitation.

Deeply committed to community engagement and service, Ramla serves on the Board of Directors for the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning and has been active in several professional and civic organizations, including BGSHRM’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Commerce Lexington Emerging Leaders, and Partners for Youth. She is also a graduate of the 2023 Leadership Lexington program.

Ramla is the proud parent of two sons and enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family.
