David Giannini

Dave Giannini is the Program Coordinator for the Medically Complex Training Program. His background is in the field of Psychology, carrying with him a degree in Psychology in Social Action and also in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. His research interests were varied, ranging from Military Psychology, to suicidality, and to substance abuse treatment. This training provided not only a context for helping others, but experience for many years as a Substance Abuse Counselor.

This work continued after moving to Kentucky from his home state of California in 2020. Additionally, this focus led him to contact with social work and DCBS on a personal level. Now, he is able to assist in instigating change on a systemic level, by helping those who help those most in need. Dave has been the Program Coordinator for Medically Complex since early 2024 and Dave prides himself on his ability to connect with the foster parents that he works with, even if their time together is limited.

Dave hopes to grow this program and make connections to other medically complex programs in neighboring states. He is a firm believer that sharing information, stories, and expertise is the way forward in serving our communities.
