Dr. Desha Scanlon is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, where she has dedicated more than two decades to shaping the next generation of social work professionals. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Scanlon brings a depth of institutional knowledge and pedagogical passion that is evident in every dimension of her work.
Dr. Scanlon earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky, where she also began her academic career as a research assistant. Since 2007, she has been a fixture at the UK College of Social Work Facebook, contributing to the college’s mission of advancing community and individual well-being through teaching, scholarship, and engagement. Her long tenure reflects not only her commitment to the institution but to the students and communities it serves across Kentucky and beyond.
