Get to Know Lesley

Lesley Phillips has dedicated upwards of eight years to the University of Kentucky, both as a student and an employee. She now serves as the Pre-Practicum Coordinator for the UK College of Social Work, where she ushers future social workers into the field to practice the skills they are learning in their curriculum. Lesley works with faculty and staff to spread information about the pre-practicum process and encourages both Bachelor and Master of Social Work students as they pursue their internship placements.

Lesley attended the University of Kentucky from 2016 to 2020, where she received degrees in both Psychology and Art History. As a student, she was a University of Kentucky Honors student, member of the sorority Alpha Delta Pi, and participant in the Special Collections Lab as an intern. She was also an active participant in the 24-hour philanthropic dance marathon, DanceBlue, and Alternative Service Breaks. She went on to pursue a master’s in social work from 2020 to 2022. Before coming back to the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, she worked with UK Healthcare. The blend of these degrees, the clinical skills she gained as a social worker, and her knowledge and experience in communications, curate a profile that supports her and her students as she works with the practicum team.
