Get to Know Meagan

Meagan Lederman is an experienced social work professional, driven by a commitment to social justice, education, and community engagement. Meagan completed her undergraduate studies from Iona University and proceeded to earn her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree from Fordham University. The first decade of her career was focused on direct service where she provided support to children within the child welfare system, offered counseling services for children and families, provided educational trainings, conducted needs assessments, and advocated for systemic change.

In 2018 Meagan began working in higher education as a college counselor. The culmination of previous experience along with the opportunities to make a stronger impact on her community through education was the right fit. Meagan has been a proud member of the UK College of Social Work team since 2021, when she started as the Program Coordinator for the Citizen’s Review Panels and Children’s Justice Act programs across Kentucky. After 3 years of managing those programs, Meagan transitioned to Strategic Operations, focusing on creating meaningful partnerships for the college. Meagan believes in the power of collaboration and strives to create networks that support the mission of the College of Social Work, the success of its students, and the communities we serve.
