Get to Know Melanie
Melanie Vincent is a Family Mentor with the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, where she supports families involved in the child welfare system by providing guidance, encouragement, and connection to resources. In her role, she works closely with families navigating challenging circumstances, helping them build stability, strengthen relationships, and move toward long-term success.
Melanie brings several years of experience in peer support and behavioral health. She previously worked as a Peer Support Specialist in the Emergency Department at Saint Joseph Hospital Main, where she assisted individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges by connecting them to treatment and community resources. She also served as the Operations Supervisor of the women’s facility at Isaiah House, where she supported both staff and clients in a residential recovery setting.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Counseling at Lindsey Wilson College. Melanie is passionate about supporting individuals and families affected by addiction and believes in meeting people where they are with compassion and understanding.
As a person in recovery, Melanie is committed to sharing hope and helping others see that change is possible. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where individuals and families feel empowered to move forward and build a better future.
