LEXINGTON, Ky. – For over 40 years, March has been officially designated as National Professional Social Work Month. This month, the University of Kentucky College of Social Work (CoSW) celebrates the extensive reach of social work across various societal dimensions with the launch of its campaign, “Social Work is Everywhere.”
This campaign is more than just a statement, it’s a reality that resonates with everyone, including those who may not yet realize their connection to it. This initiative aims to elevate the visibility of social work, showcasing how social workers play a crucial role in creating support and change in society.
Social work, although often unheralded and sometimes misunderstood, is a distinct and noble profession. Its impact echoes through the halls of world-class hospitals, amplifies the voices of marginalized communities, and breaks down barriers on global platforms, truly embodying the concept that social work is everywhere, interwoven in the very fabric of daily lives.
Throughout the month of March, the CoSW will be inviting faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members to celebrate the profession and all who are impacted by it.
